Why The U.S. Economy Continues To Struggle

Dear Reader, If you would like to read a perspective on why the U.S. Economy continues to struggle, please see the following article by a Pulitzer Prize winning, New York Times investigative reporter:

Add in the related fact that most consumers are not spending extravagantly but holding tightly to their cash to make their mortgage payments, car payments, tuition payments, etc. and you have a strong indication of where the U.S. Economy, the biggest Economy in the world stands, and why.

Add to that, that most people aren't getting significant raises, if any raises, and that many people are unemployed or underemployed, and you understand why consumers are holding tightly to their cash.

According to the new HBO Documentary, "Paycheck To Paycheck: The Life & Times of Katrina Gilbert, 42 million American women, 1 in 3 American women, live in poverty or just above the poverty line. They and their families are deeply impacted. http://www.hbo.com/documentaries/paycheck-to-paycheck-the-life-and-times-of-katrina-gilbert#/

Life is a struggle for many Americans, just as it is for many other people all over the world. None of this instills confidence. We must willingly offer a helping hand to one another, whether in food banks or in every other charitable pursuit that helps people to live decent, productive, self-respecting lives.
